Celebrating eighteen years of being the voice of the housing industry in Newton County, on October 13 the Newton County Home Builders Association held its annual Installation and Awards Banquet.

The outgoing Board of Directors was recognized for their service and the 2009-2010 slate of officers were sworn in by Doug Tumlin, a senior officer with the Home Builders Association of Georgia.

Several awards were presented. Lewis Stephenson of Top Notch Homes received The Presidents Award, Brian Burgoyne of Newton Federal Bank was named the Associate Member of the Year and Bob Goucher of BoMar Homes was chosen by the membership as the Builder Member of the Year.

The Newton County Home Builders Association represents its members by serving as the voice of the housing industry in Newton County. It interacts with the Newton County government to assure quality and orderly growth, provide obtainable housing and maintain a favorable business climate. In addition, the Newton County Home Builders Association provides its membership with opportunities to grow professionally through peer interaction and educational seminars.
