The Southern Heartland Art Gallery is hosting its annual Artful Harvest judged art show throughout much of September.
Margee Bright Ragland, an Associate Professor at Georgia Perimeter College, served as judge for the show, which held its awards reception Thursday evening.
Capturing the best in show award, with his oil painting “Toward the Sunset” was Sam Triana, earning a prize of $500. First place was Barb Ali for her sculpture “It takes Two to Tangle”; second place was Sue Grilli for “The Hot Sign is On”; and Susan Pelham in third place for “At the Diner.”
Honorable mention winners were Elise Hammond for “Hodges Pond,” Bernadette Smith for “She Pitched Her Tie and Put on Pearls,” Joe Waters for “Egret,” Ray Smith for “Transitions,” Margaret Anger for “Rose Trellis,” Ann Wildmon for “4 Moments,” Sue Pezely for “A Boy and His Dog” and Cindy Walker for “Kansas Sky.”
Student winners were Grace Callaway for “Study of Anne” in the high school division, Devon Braswell for “Turtles” in the middle school division and Emily Pelaez for “Blue Dog” in the elementary division.
The show opened Friday, Sept. 5, and will run through closing on Thursday, Sept. 25.
