Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Wood of Covington announce the engagement of their daughter Carmen Lynn Wood to Phillip Andrew Henderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Henderson of Covington.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Martin Camlic Sr. of Ft. Oglethorpe. She is a registered nurse at Newton Medical Center.

The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Malcom and Mrs. Clarence R. Henderson Sr. of Covington and great-grandson of Mrs. Curtis (Nellie) Johnson. He is a 1997 graduate of Newton County High School and works at Henderson's Restaurant and Grocery Store.

The couple will marry Oct. 13 at High Point Baptist Church.
