Wilbert Bradford Sr., 69, of Covington, died Aug. 27. The son of the late James Floyd and Hattie W. Bradford, he was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Bradford loved talking to people, going fishing and traveling to the beach.

Surviving are daughter Angela Shepard of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law Brad and Judy Bradford, Steve and Melanie Bradford, all of Social Circle; eight grandchildren;; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law Barbara and Jay Peters of Social Circle, Dot Munson of Oxford; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Ruth Bradford of Covington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 29, in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Richard Gravitt officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
