Promising a close, intimate atmosphere between stylist and client, Bella Salon has opened its doors in Clark's Grove.

"I just want you to come in and have a great conversation and feel comfortable [and know] that when you leave, you just look and feel wonderful," said Bella owner Janice Dukes.

The hair salon is located next door to Town Center Breads Coffee House in the former location of UGA's Metropolitan Design Studio. Like the design studio before it, Bella is spacious and loft-like, with high ceilings and plenty of natural lighting.

Open for three weeks in its new location, Bella was formerly located in Social Circle and is close to celebrating its third year in business. Dukes said she is delighted with the Clark's Grove neighborhood and has already picked up 11 new clients.

Bella currently has two hair stylists: Dukes and Jesi Palmer. Dukes said she is looking to add no more than two additional stylists in the future.

"I just want to keep it very small and very personal," Dukes said. "I don't want you to feel like a number."

Haircuts at Bella are between $25 and $50 for women, depending on the education and experience of the stylist. Haircuts for men are between $15 and $20. Children's haircuts are $15 and up. All haircuts come with a shampoo wash and aromatherapy towel.

Highlights for the entire head are $70 and up. Partial highlights are $45 and up and pick-up highlights are between $15 and $30.

Hair color is $40 and up for the entire head and between $20 and $30 with highlights. Updos, make-up applications and make-up lessons are also offered. Hair treatments are $10 and up.

Bella also offers waxing for eyebrows ($15), lips ($12) and the chin ($12).
