Mr. and Mrs. Jack Threadgill of Covington announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda Brooke to Mr. Gary Todd Chambers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Howell of Covington and Mr. Gary Chambers.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie B. Mask of Covington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ellis B. Ponds of Kannapolis, N.C.

The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Capps and the late Clifford Capps of Covington, Mrs. Martha Chambers and the late Mr. Lanier chambers of Covington, Mrs. Joanne Howell and the late Mr. J.W. Howell of Covington.

The couple will marry Oct. 20 at Stewart Baptist Church.
