Mr. Steven Shepherd, 53, of Oxford, died Dec. 2. The son of the late George Washington Shepherd and Dorothy Conley Shepherd, he was born in Newton County and attended Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Shepherd enjoyed photography, gunsmith, reloading, hunting and fishing. A loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving are wife Tina Shepherd of Oxford; daughters Michelle Bradford of Mansfield, Rachel Shepherd of Covington; sons Timmy Shepherd, J.R. Shepherd, both of Oxford; grandchildren Cheyenne Shepherd, Zoe Bradford, Victor Shepherd, Ivy Shepherd; mother Dorothy Shepherd of Oxford; sister Patsy Shepherd of Oxford.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with the Rev. Jason Mincey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1215 Access road, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 5.
