September concerts on the square announced

The Arts Association in Newton County, in partnership with BB&T, will present a September to remember series of Concerts on Square at noon, Thursdays. Performances are varied from smooth, traditional, contemporary jazz, and brass, to sophisticated country.

Performers scheduled to appear are:

• Thursday, Sept. 6: The Daniel Jackson Explosion - "Smooth Jazz"

• Thursday, Sept. 13: Drive Time - "Traditional / Contemporary Jazz"

• Thursday, Sept. 20: Alcovy Brass - "Brass Quintet"

• Thursday, Sept. 27: Hannah Thomas & Band - "Sophisticated Country"

In case of rain, the concerts will be at Turner Lake Recreation Complex, except on Sept. 6, when it would be at First Presbyterian Fellowship Hall.
