Ruby Lee Freeman Epps

Mrs. Ruby Lee Freeman Epps died July 7. The daughter of Mrs. Lizzie Freeman and the late Mr. James W. Freeman, she was born in 1946 in Newton County. She was preceded in death by sister Lizzie Mae Freeman. Mrs. Epps graduated from R.L. Cousins High School in 1963 and was employed with Bell South, retiring after 30 years of service. She accepted Christ at an early age, joining Macedonia Baptist Church and later moving to New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Epps will be sadly missed.

Surviving are husband Mr. Charlie Epps Jr.; son Mr. and Mrs. Brandon (Tasheena) Epps; grandchildren Julian and Jada Epps; mother Mrs. Emma L. Freeman; brothers Mr. and Mrs. James (Shelia) Freeman, Mr. Gary Freeman, Mr. Norris Freeman, Mr. Ronnie Freeman; aunts Mrs. Carrie Freeman, Mrs. Ella Ruth Freeman; in-laws Mrs. Robin Bradford, Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Josephine) Brown, Mrs. Frances Bentley, Mrs. Johnnie Lee Bentley; devoted god-son Mr. Darryl Cooksey; devoted friends (sisters) Mrs. Gloria Brown, Mrs. Ola Mae Gilstrap, Mrs. Kathryn Smith; special family friend Mr. Melvin Clark; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 11 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Miller, the Rev. Cecil Rozier, the Rev. Carlton Mathis and the Rev. Lester Bentley officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
