Mr. Robert McCormick Smith Sr. of Covington died Feb. 22 at Rockdale Medical Center. The son of the late Winton Bradley Smith and Minnie Godard Smith, he was born in 1938 in Fulton County. Mr. Smith was a longtime resident of Conyers and a self-employed truck driver, a job he enjoyed. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and was a Mason and Shriner. He was preceded in death by parents and son Robert McCormick Smith Jr.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Linda and Jeff Lantrip of Conyers; daughter-in-law Gloria S. Smith of Covington; sister Peggy Kent of Mount Judea, Ariz.; brothers James Smith of McDonough, Winton Smith of Cumming; grandchildren Trey Smith, McKenzi Smith, Austin Lantrip, Misty Dupree, Jeffrey Lantrip, Matt Lantrip.

Funeral seravices were held Feb. 26 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Sidney Bailey officiating. Interment will be at Midway Methodist Church Cemetery, Griffin. In lieu of flowrs, donations may be made to the Shriner's Crippled children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607, or to the Conyers Rotary Club Miracle League, P.O. Box 81621, Conyers, GA 30013.
