Robert (Rob) Harrison, 83, died Aug. 24 at Rockdale Medical Center. Born in Morgan County, Mr. Harrison was the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Elizabeth Harper Harrison. Mr. Harrison was a US Navy veteran and retired carpenter. Mr. Harrison was a member of Centennial Baptist Church in Rutledge. He enjoyed gardening, chewing tobacco, building, hunting, telling stories and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Clubb Harrison; son, James Morris Harrison and granddaughter Melissa Nabors.

Mr. Harrison was survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patrica and David Woodruff of Covignton; sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Patty Harrison of Social Circle, Sam, Sr. and Charlyne Harrison of Covington; grandchildren, Joseph Woodruff, Tammy Cameron, Jenny Morgan, Jamie Harrison, Brad Harrison, Sam Harrison, Jr. and Lori Beth Harrison; brother, Jodie Harrison; special niece, Ann Harrison both of Rutledge.

Funeral services for Mr. Harrison will be held Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. the Floyd Street Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Wilburn M. Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Hawkins Academy Cemetery in Social Circle.
