More than making copies

After 12 years in the printing business, working at Summit Printing Company of Oxford, Audra Eubanks decided the time had come to do something different.

So mixing her love of stationary with her love of animals, she decided to open The Copy Express, a combination print and gift shop.

"I just decided one day to try this and see what happened," Eubanks said of her shop, which opened in May. "I'm not just printing. I'm not just copies. I also have the gift shop."

The Copy Express, located next to Kelly's Pool Service on U.S. Highway 278 sells a variety of gift items ideal for bridal and baby showers in addition to also offering personalized stationary and invitations.

"I specialize in stationary and invitation cards of all kinds," Eubanks said.

Eubanks' love of animals is evident in the items on display around the shop. Stuffed bears and plush rabbits abound.

The shop carries elite stationary lines from Vera Bradley, Birchcraft Studios and Stacy Claireboyd.

A basic line of personalized stationary costs $10 for graphics with an additional dollar for each page printed. Basic typesetting charges for personalized invitations and announcements are $25, which includes one photo and six lines of text.

Plenty of invitation examples, all done by Eubanks, cover the walls of The Copy Express, including ones for bridal showers, baby showers, pool parties and slumber parties. Eubanks also carries Kate Aspen baby shower and bridesmaid invitations.

The Copy Express carries many children's toys and book lines including Raggedy Ann & Andy, Corduroy, The Real Mother Goose, Sesame Street, Where the Wild Things Are, Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit, Curious George, The Bearington Collection and Thomas & Friends.

"I figured if I'm going to have baby stuff, I might as well have the kids stuff to," Eubanks said of the shop's wide collection of children's fiction memorabilia.
