Minoa Petree Brown

Mrs. Miona Petree Brown, 65, lifelong resident of Covington, died Feb. 22. The daughter of the late Frank Dalton and Maudie Bell Robinson Dalton, she was born in Jackson County in 1943. Mrs. Brown enjoyed riding horses, dancing and going to the VFW. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She had worked for the Waffle House as a manager. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her father.

Surviving are mother Maudie Bell Dalton of Covington; daughter Nita Petree Amancio of Covington; sons Wesley Petree of Oxford, John Petree Jr. and Joseph Ashley Petree, both of Covington; brothers Clarence Dalton of Watkinsville and Ted Dalton of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous other family and close friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 24, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home.
