Mr. Michael Terrell Smith died Aug. 19. The son of Mr. Terrell Cooper and the late Ms. Christine Smith, he was born in 1969. He attended Newton County Schools. He was preceded in death by his mother and devoted aunt Mrs. Reba Tate.

Surviving are wife Mrs. Patricia Smith; sons Mr. Michael Terrell Smith Jr., Mr. Jon Michael Smith of Conyers; father Mr. and Mrs. Terrell (Mary) Cooper; sisters Ms. Mone Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne (Shannon) Williams; brothers Mr. Turell Cooper, Mr. Marquez Cooper, Mr. Brian Cooper, all of Covington; aunts Ms. Elsie Smith of Conyers, Mrs. Dorothy Clark, Ms. Mattie Pearl Heard, Ms. Kathlyn Smith, Mrs. Maggie Smith, all of Covington, Mrs. Annie Grace Smith of Decatur; devoted cousins Ms. Irene Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Leon (Annie) Tate; devoted friends Mr. and Mrs. Tim (Cheryl) Bell; a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 24 at Early Hope Baptist Church with Minister Marcello Baynes officiating. Interment followed at Flat Shoals Cemetery.
