A man took the law into his own hands Monday when he tracked down the men who stole his pit pull puppies and, with the help of a gun, demanded them back.

Three were arrested during the altercation and man was injured with both a gun shot wound and several dog bites.

Albert Wilson called 911 stating that he needed an officer in reference to locating his stolen pit bull puppies at a residence on Harmony Place.

When a Covington Police officer arrived, Wilson stated he had traveled to the house where he thought his puppies had been taken. He had brought a gun and his adult pit bull with him.

Wilson said he had made contact with two males, Brandon Edwards and a juvenile, and demanded his puppies back. A fight reportedly ensued and there was a struggle for the gun.

During the fight, Wilson's dog also became involved, reportedly biting the juvenile several times. Wilson told the officer that one of the boys grabbed his gun, a 22 Glock, and shot at both he and his dog as they ran away.

 Officers searched the property where they where able to locate Edwards, the juvenile, the gun and one of the missing puppies.

The juvenile had an apparent gun shot wound to his foot and dog bites to his body.

EMS arrived on the scene and determined the juvenile's injuries to be minor. Both Edwards and the juvenile were transported to the CPD.

A further search of the area by police located the rest of the missing puppies. A knife and broken cell phone belonging to Wilson were also found at the scene. The puppies and Wilson's dog were taken into the custody of the Newton County Animal Control.

Wilson was also arrested and transported to the CPD.
