Dear Editor: I think John Douglas is pushing his political position just a little bit too far. Why do politicians feel they are above the law? We know he is not the first to think this way.

There was a reason an officer felt compelled to stop him. Just imagine a drunk driver all over the road, a bank robbery in progress, a house burning or a hundred other scenarios and an officer just observing because he was off duty and wasn't supposed to react to the situation. How would Mr. Douglas feel then?

Mr. Douglas, admit you were wrong and stop pushing your weight around and using the media to gain attention. Let our police department do its job the way it is supposed to do.
