Jimmy Neal Hester

Jimmy Neal Hester, 60, of Social Circle, died Dec. 11. The son of the late Jimmy Neal Hester Sr., he was co-owner of J&J Carpentry in Social Circle, a former law enforcement officer for the city of Covington and Jasper and attended Harvest Baptist Church in Monroe. Mr. Hester was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two years in Germany. He was a very hard worker, an avid sportsman enjoying deer and rabbit hunting and was a very good cook in the kitchen and on an outdoor grill. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Easom and step-father James Marion (Sonny) Harman.

Surviving are special friend Liz Snows of Social Circle; mother Mary Harman of Oxford; sister Pamela L. Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 14, in the Floyd Street chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Alan Posey and the Rev. Sean Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
