Jeanine Scott Bruce, 77, of Covington, entered into her heavenly home, April 23, after a brief stay at Abbey Hospice. She and her husband lived in their early married years in Avondale Estates and later moved to Americus where Mrs. Bruce enjoyed being a member of the DAR and UDC. After leaving Americus, they moved to Covington. Mrs. Bruce enjoyed studying genealogy, working on the computer, reading and antiques.

Surviving are husband Alton K. Bruce of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law Jeanine and Larry Channell of Marietta, Joan and Jim Burkholder of Loganville; sons and daughters-in-law Beau and Angie Bruce of Marietta, Mike and Brenda Bruce of Atlanta; grandchildren Daniel, Laura, Chris, Nathan, Brooke, Ben, Kim, Bruce, Matt, Kenneth, Michael; great-granddaughter Lydia Grace; sister-in-law Janet Scott of Unadilla.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Gaines officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends today, April 25, at the home of Joan Burkholder, 105 Little Haynes Dr., Loganville, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Court, Social Circle, 30025.
