Gordon C. Smith Jr., 64, of Oxford, died march 6. the son of the late Gordon C. Sr., and Virginia L. Lynch Smith, he was retired from the plumbing business. Mr. Smith was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Pace Masonic Lodge 558 and Yaarab Shriner's Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and traveling to the mountains and to Florida. Mr. Smith will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Surviving are wife Katie Smith of Oxford; sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey and Susan Smith of Conyers, Timothy and Connie Smith, Michael L. Smith, all of Covington, William E. Smith and wife Catherine Felhing of Tuscon, Ariz.; daughters and son-in-law Sabrina Kaye and Dan Wardell, Melinda Johnson, all of Oxford; 11 grandchildren; sister Kathy lEgnor of West Virginia; sister-in-law Helen Ricks of Oxford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. William Herndon and Bro. Phillip Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, march 9< from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist church Building Fund, 108 W. Macedonia Church Road, Oxford, 30054.
