Evylene King Lester, 91, of Conyers, died May 1 at Heartland Hospice. The daughter of the late Grover and Dessa Maloy King, she was the oldest member of Honey Creek Baptist Church, was retired from Bibb Manufacturing and was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Lester is preceded in death by husband Walker Lockhart Lester, grandsons Rodney Moon and Dale Lester, brother Melvin King and sisters Byrdice Barker and Carroll George.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Evelyn and Bobby Moon, Sandra and Ronnie Needham, all of Conyers; sons and daughters-in-law Harold and Carol Lester of Leander, Texas, Jerry and Opal Lester of Cleveland; grandchildren Pamela Neal, Chris Moon, Tony Moon, Cindy Robinson, Tim Needham, Tammy Maddox, Kevin Needham, Kimberly Davis, Scottie Lester, Renee Lester, Cynthia Lester; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Janice and Marshall Caldwell of Covington; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3, at 3 p.m. in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Bishop Tim Needham and the Rev. Vester Maughon officiating. Interment will follow in Honey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell and Cowan today, May 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
