Dorothy "Dot" Ann Newton

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Ann Newton, 84, of Covington, died Feb. 2. The daughter of the late John William and Lula Mae McNabb Cagle, she was born in 1923 in Atlanta. She was of the Methodist faith and formerly lived in Forest Park before moving to Covington 18 years ago. She was preceded in death by husband Marshall Earl Newton.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Don and Billie Newton of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law Jan and Larry Driver of Covington; sisters Mrs. Louise Ivey, Hapeville, Mrs. Thelma McMillan, Fayetteville; grandchildren Kerri Sanders, McDonough, Ryan Newton, Stockbridge, Jason "Jay" Newton, McDonough; great-granddaughter Lauren Sanders, McDonough; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Feb. 4 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim VanWinkle officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
