Mr. David Lee Dukes Jordan died Jan. 29. The son of the late Mr. Cleveland Dukes and Mrs. Maravine Fretwell and stepson of Mr. Roland Fretwell, he was born in Newton County.

Surviving are wife Mrs. Betty "BJ" Dukes; children Ms. Shellie Marie Dukes, Mr. and Mrs. Davis (Mary) Dukes, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony (Sabrina) Davis, Mrs. Linda Tyler; sister Mrs. Janie Hall; grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Oshea (Shernika) Norrington, Kenyatta Dukes, Damian Dukes, Aiesha Brown, Marquis Dukes, Bricola Reed, Quintrail Dukes, Darrel Hardeman, Dantoine Dukes, Greg Smith, Lisa Smith, Amy Smith; 16 great-grandchildren; aunt Mrs. Nettie Usher, Birmingham, Ala; mother-in-law Mrs. Lizzie Mae Norwood; special nieces and nephews Ms. Lisa Livingston, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher (Sherreka) Livingston; devoted friends Mr. Robert Lackey, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Stewart; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at Anointed Body of Christ Ministries, Porterdale, with the Rev. Bobby Sims officiating. Interment followed Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Covington.
