The Rev. and Mrs. William Donald Compton of Covington announce the engagement of their daughter Kayla Marie to the Rev. Daniel LeRoy Walters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Leroy Walters of Madison.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Daisy Hunt and the late Edward H. Hunt of Oxford and Lee and Evelyn Plott of Covington and the late William Otis Compton of Conyers.

She is a graduate of Eastside High School and attends Georgia Perimeter College. She is employed as a pharmacy technician at Chip's Health Mart Pharmacy.

The future groom is the grandson of Betty Hawks of Loganville and Lee Van Hayes of Winder, Lawrence and Callie Blakeslee and the late Gale Walters of Boise, Idaho. He is a graduate of Morgan County High School and Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science and religion and specialization in pastoral ministry.

He is currently enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary studying for a Masters of Divinity. He is employed at Southeast Sealing Inc. and is seeking a ministerial position.

The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 29 at Centennial Baptist Church, Rutledge.
