Brice Allen, 84, of Covington, died Nov. 27 at Newton Medical Center. The son of the late Charlie Reagan and Addie Mae Lunsford Allen, he was born in Newton County. He was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher at Porterdale Baptist Church and currently attended Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church. Mr. Allen loved studying the Bible and watching ESPN, especially Braves baseball. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid fan of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by wife Evelyn Allen.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Glenn Moon of Athens; son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Cathy Allen of Covington; grandchildren Kellie Moon, Reagan and Geoff Wilson, all of Athens, Britt and Sandra Allen of Watkinsville, Olivia and Keith Adams of Covington; great-grandchildren Abbigail Adams, Maddilyn Adams of Covington, Lexie Houston, Jake Houston of Watkinsville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with the Rev. James A. Moore, the Rev. John Ozley and Bill Norton officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1215 Access Road, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 28.
