Mrs. Betty B. Stanton, 80, a livelong resident of Covington and member of Porterdale Baptist Church, died Feb. 17. The daughter of the late Irvin Blankenship and Sarah Knight Blankenship, she was born in Newton County in 1927. She was preceded in death by parents and husband Rudolph Stanton.

Surviving are sons Dana Edwards of Stockbridge, Butch Stanton of Loganville; daughter Brenda Stanton of Snellville; sister Bobbie B. Lindsey of Covington; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

Funeral services were held Feb. 19 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Standard officiating. Interment was at Liberty Cemetery, Porterdale.
