The weather provided just enough precipitation to cool off the approximately 370 runners participating in the 4th Annual Firehouse 5K and 1-mile fun run, beginning at the Conyers Street Gym Saturday.

Jeff Dundas was the first to cross the finish line in a time of 17 minutes, 42 seconds.

Alina Jablonski, 12 years old, was the female winner in the race, supporting the Covington Fireman’s Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Newton County School System.

Eric John and Karen Moss were the male and female masters winners in times of 18:30 and 24:16, respectively.

Lawson Davis was the boys’ 1-mile fun run winner, and 7-year-old Sarah Shriver was the girls’ victor. The Firehouse 5K was part of the 2013 Black Bag Race Series and the 2013 Run and See Georgia Grand Prix.
