Mill Creek exits state poll

After dropping its second consecutive game of the year, the Mill Creek Hawks dropped out of the Georgia High School Football Class AAAAAA poll, allowing North Cobb to enter the poll at No. 10 overall.

Mill Creek fell to No. 7 Norcorss last Friday 27-13, a week after dropping a 1-point decision to Peachtree Ridge.

North Cobb enters the poll with a 4-1 record, extending its win total to three games this past
Friday with a 46-14 victory over Harrison. The Warriors also have wins over Starr's Mill and Kennesaw Mountain, outscoring their opponents 149-34 in their three wins this season.

North Gwinett, McEachern, Colquitt County and Peachtree Ridge held on to the top-4 spots in the polls.

North Gwinnett held on to the top spot after a bye week, The Bulldogs are 4-0 with an upcoming game against region opponent Duluth scheduled for this Friday.

Lovejoy and Camden County took the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the poll, while Hillgrove and Norcross hold the No.7 and No. 8 positions. Lovejoy defeated region opponent Druid Hills 59-0 last Thurday to move to 4-1 on the year. The Wildcats take on Newton and Alcovy in the final two weeks of the regular season.

Valdosta also held on to its position within the top-10 depite falling 14-10 to Camden County. The Wilcats fell to 4-1 with the road loss.

The marquee game of the week features Lovejoy on the road against 4-1 Rockdale. Rockdale's lone loss came at the hands of Langston Hughes on Sept. 20. The match-up will determine the top spot in Region 2-AAAAAA.

Class AAAA
In the Class AAAA poll, Sandy Creek once again led the charge at the top spot.

The Fighting Patriots improved their record to 3-0-1 on the year with a 54-19 win over Fayette County.

Carrollton and Griffin claimed the No. 2-3 spots in the poll, while Monroe Area held firm at No. 4 overall.
Monroe Area defeated Lanier 56-28 last Friday to improve to 5-0 overall. The Purple Hurricanes have a date with Eastside on Nov. 8 to end the regular season.

Statesboro rounded out the top-5 at No. 5 overall.

No. 6 Wayne County and No. 7 Mary Persons remain in the poll, while Cedar Town and Stockbridge check in at No. 8 and No. 9 overall. Marist closes the poll at No. 10 overall.
