Double check your wallet for your driver’s license and bribe your designated driver to clear their schedule, because this weekend is filled with potential 21 and up activities.

Enthusiastic brewers and champion level beer drinkers come together Saturday, October 25th for the Georgia Craft Beer Festival in Candler park. At least 30 of Georgia’s top breweries will be bringing you over 100 different samples of their best concoctions. Basically, it’s every beer drinkers paradise. Your general admission ticket gets you access to samples, a souvenir glass, and a festival guide, while the slightly pricier VIP ticket gets you all the general admission perks plus early entrance, air conditioned VIP areas, and rare beer samples. You’ll have to flash your ID to participate in the beer sampling and games, but the rest of the festival is open to all ages. Since Atlanta can’t celebrate anything without an army of food trucks, you can supplement your samples with a huge selection of snacks. Enjoy the soulful serenading of Neil Cribbs, The Higher Choir, Sailing to Denver, and Wesley Cook throughout the afternoon.

If craft beers are your pleasure but outdoor festivals aren’t exactly your cup of ale, then you can head out to the Lincoln Fill Station & Home Brew in Snellville. This new store boasts a variety of passionately brewed beer available for purchase both individually and in six packs. This flexibility also allows you the power to assemble your own six pack with as many different brews as you like. Limited samples are also available if you’d like to grab a seat at the bar and try the brand before you buy it. The knowledgeable and heavily bearded staff would love nothing more than to guide you through the aisles and help you find your favorite new brew. Looking to get into brewing? The store sells the necessary equipment to start your own mini-brewery.

You can also stir up some festive cocktails in the comfort of your own home. You can swing by the Sigman bottle shop, or any other local liquor store, to grab a few simple ingredients. You really can’t go wrong with a dessert flavored drink. There’s nothing better than a crisp, spiced ginger snap, so go ahead and mix-up the liquid version.  Just pour ¾ ounces of spiced rum, ½ ounces of ginger brandy, and 4 ounces of eggnog into your blender. Go the extra mile and top it with a ginger snap cookie, or pulse a few cookies together and blend with sugar for a little extra flavor on the rim. Innovative mixers can stroll the aisle and select a pumpkin or caramel apple flavored liquor and mix up a one-of-a-kind liquid fall recipe. Just add a bonfire, and you’re good to go.

Cheers, pal.
