The deadline for registering to vote for the upcoming general election is in one week and early in-person voting will be starting in two weeks.
Voter registration for the Nov. 5 general election will be Oct. 7.
In-person early voting will run Oct. 14 to Nov. 1 at the polling station at 1400 Parker Road, Suite C.
Absentee ballots can be requested from the Rockdale County Board of Elections.
The Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, the penny sales tax for education capital purposes, will be on the ballot for all voters.
But voters at two precincts, those with their polling stations at Pine Street Elementary and Conyers First United Methodist, will see elections for Conyers Mayor and Conyers city council District 2 Post 1 and District 1 seats on their ballots. Cleveland Stroud is running unopposed for District 1 and has served in that seat since 1994. Chris Bowen is running unopposed for the District 2 Post 1 seat and has served in the seat since 1991.

Olivia Ware will be listed on the ballot but has been disqualified from the election due to questions of her residency not being in the city of Conyers for at least one year.
All voters are reminded that they can also obtain information regarding the status of their voter registration, their polling place location, and district representatives by contacting the Rockdale County Board of Elections/VR Office at 770-278-7333 or visiting the Secretary of State's website at http://mvp.sos.state.ga.us .
Voters voting in-person absentee voters and those voting on Election Day at their assigned precinct must show one of the six forms of photo identification:
1. a Georgia drivers license (even if expired or suspended);
2. Valid State or Federal Government photo ID;
3. Valid U.S. passport with photo;
4. Valid Government Employee photo ID (city, county, state or U.S. government);
5. Valid U.S. military photo ID;
6. Tribal photo ID.
Voters who do not have any of the above IDs may obtain a Voter Identification Card from the Rockdale County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office. Voters can also vote with a Provisional Ballot and provide a copy of one of the above photo identifications to the Board of Registrar by the Friday after the election.
