UPDATE: Visitation will be held Friday, Jan 3, from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m., with family receiving friends and visitors 6  p.m. - 7 p.m. at Brown and Young Home of Funerals, 7075 Swift Street, Lithonia. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, noon, at Double Springs Baptist Church, 2705 Hightower Trail, presided over by the REv. DeLand Shorter. Family will assemble at 1913 Farmer Road NW at 11 a.m.

(Dec. 29, 5 p.m.)  Mr. Arthur Lee "Buck" Brown, 103, of Conyers, Ga. passed away on Dec. 27, 2013.

Brown was born Christmas day, Dec. 25, 1910 in Locust Grove as the eldest of three boys and six girls to mother Lena Brown and father Clove Brown.

Brown, a long-time deacon at Double Springs Baptist Church, met his wife Leola Brown, who was a member of a nearby Cedar Grove church, in Rockdale and raised his seven children in Rockdale County.

Mr. Brown is survived by six children, 31 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and more than 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Brown and Young Home of Funerals in Lithonia, owned and operated by his son Grady Brown, is handling the funeral arrangements.
