The event is the Rockdale United Way's largest fundraiser of the year and their goal is to sell 2,000 plates of barbecue. After exceeding their fundraising goal of $285,000 last year, this year's goal is $340,000.

"This is the biggest fundraiser for us. Not only does it help us to raise needed dollars, it helps bring the community together," said Kysa Daniels of United Way.

The event is catered by Jim N' Nicks BBQ and will be held at the Rockdale Career Academy. RCA students will be working alongside Jim N' Nicks employees in the third year of this partnership.

Orders are $10 a plate and are available for dine in, pick-up or deliver for those ordering 20 or more plates. The meal will include barbecue, side items, dessert, a drink and a ticket for a drawing for a gas grill. Local "celebrities" and leaders will be serving attendees as waiters and waitresses for those who dine in.
