We were pleased to see that the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce named David Shipp the owner of Puritan Dry Cleaning and Laundry as the Jerry Barboe Small Business Person of the year.

Shipp, who is a community activist, is the third generation of Shipps who have run the cleaners. Shipp has nurtured his family business through the rough times that we have been facing and kept it intact He's also found time to be involved in community groups like the Kiwanis Club of Conyers and the Republican Party.

Shipp has chaired the Chamber's governmental committee and, through his efforts, has allowed the Chamber to keep a few steps ahead of the issues that are facing our community.

We admire David Shipp and feel the chamber made an excellent choice for this year’s small business of the year.
