Lexicon Technologies, a Conyers-based electronics repair company, recently celebrated the opening of a massively expanded facility on Sigman Road will add up to 150 new jobs.
At nearly 1 acre in size, the "Repair Factory" expansion will further boost Lexicon's business of repairing and servicing such electronics as tablets, smart phones and barcode readers.
"The leadership team, and especially our employees, are enthusiastic about what this means for our future," said Lexicon CEO Travis Collins. "This facility is a strong platform to continue
our company growth."
The multi-million-dollar expansion is part of the company's seven-year growth plan.
"Repair Factory will be a state-of-the-art facility that allows us to increase our production capacity to more than 100,000 units per month," Collins said. "We will be able to easily meet the demand of large-scale client requests, while continuing to provide the world-class service for which we are known."
A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday impressed officials, Chamber of Commerce members and community leaders with the variety, efficiency and scope of the work.
Collins, a long-time resident and former Rockdale school board member, also valued the varied workforce and skills available in Rockdale and metro Atlanta, from entry level positions to top level engineers and managers.
"I think there's a big advantage being closer to the customer. We've been able to give them out-of-the-box ready to go devices. If it's on the other side of the world, it's in a shipping container, someone has to get it ready."
"We worked on getting the infrastructure right. Now we're focusing on growing it. It's a bet on the future."
