The Conyers Rockdale Heritage Foundation will hold its first evening gala fundraiser on May 18, 7 p.m. at the newly opened East Mountain Studios.

This evening of celebration is set to celebrate the history of Rockdale's pioneering efforts by "Embracing our Heritage: Past... Present... And Future," which is the theme of this celebration. The event will showcase dance pieces from the Dominy Performing School of Arts. There will be live musical entertainment as well as a disc jockey.

The Heritage Foundation was developed to give recognition to the students of Conyers-Rockdale County honoring their achievements in academics, athletics, and the arts. The Heritage Foundation's purpose is to provide resources to the high school students of Conyers-Rockdale, preparing them for college.

This event will honor several residents for their entrepreneurship, leadership, advocacy, and community service over the past decades within the Rockdale-Conyers area, including former Sheriff Jeff Wigington, Commissioner JaNice Van Ness, Rockdale NAACP President Willie Gibson, Rockdale County Public Schools Superintendent Richard Autry, business owner Guillermo Bravo and former County Chief of Staff Julie Mills.

The Heritage Gala-Semi Formal Benefit will be held at East Mountain Studios 2030 East Park Drive Conyers, 30013. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Benefit begins at 7 p.m. Ticket cost is $20.
