Mr. Claude Bostic, 98 of Conyers, died Feb. 2. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Bostic; sister Berelene Hicks; brothers Rankin and Jack Bostic. 

He is survived by daughters Charlotte and Charles Fisher of Sebastopol, Calif., Marilene and Bob Cunningham of Cumming; sister Louise Martin of Decatur; grandchildren Caryn Fisher of Bodega Bay, Calif., Charles and Becky Fisher of San Diego, Calif., Brent Cunningham of Colliersville, Tenn., Ashley and Jon Bruschi of Cumming; great-grandchildren Sophia Fisher and Jack Bruschi. 

He was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Union, W.Va. Mr. Bostic was a member of Rockdale Baptist Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher, past-president of Conyers Kiwanis Club and a member of Rockdale Retired Educators. He and his wife Margaret taught fifth grade at Flat Shoals Elementary for 10 years. Before that, the couple had 71 years combined experience as educators in West Virginia, often teaching at the same school. The two met at Concord University, a teacher’s college, in West Virginia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. at Rockdale Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Moss officiating; the body lay in state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment services will follow at a later date in Green Hill Cemetery, Union, W.Va. 

The family received friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Rockdale Baptist Church, 1295 Smyrna Road, Conyers, GA 30094.
