Former Chief David Cathcart resigned and according to his resignation letter will follow other pursuits.

Our dealings with the former chief have always been upfront and cordial and we wish him well in his new life.

Before Cathcart resigned, veteran law enforcement Officer Gene Wilson was appointed to the new position of Public Safety Director. For now Wilson has assumed the responsibilities of chief.

Wilson has a long history of community policing, and we have already seen him visible at a number of community events.

We wish interim Chief Wilson well as the new leader of our police department.
