Established in 1911, Mansfield Baptist Church has been serving their community for over 95 years. In the next upcoming months the ministry will be celebrating their 100th birthday.
Pastor Jeff R. Perkins, who came to the ministry in 1996, has been serving the Mansfield congregation for over 18 years. Originally located in downtown Mansfield, the church outgrew its quarters and moved its congregation to a larger campus in 2006. This enriching campus now located off of Woodlawn Road sits on 21 acres of beautiful land.
Along with its beautiful facilities, Mansfield Baptist also has a community of believers known for being a family-oriented congregation.
Pastor Perkins said there is always something going on at Mansfield Baptist because of this family atmosphere.
In closing out their summer’s festivities, Pastor Perkins says the church’s Vacation Bible School was a huge success.
Moving into to their fall season, there are a lot of events to look forward to. Coming up in September, Mansfield will be hosting a Sportsman’s Dinner. This dinner will be dedicated to any person involved in athletic activity. Proceeding the dinner, Mansfield Baptist will also start their “week of Renewal” with guest Speaker Danny Singleton. This week is designed to renew one’s walk in Christ by emphasizing the church’s mission statement of “Sharing Christ and Shaping Christ Followers.”
Other activities to look out for are the annual Fall Festival, the 5k Run and Operation Christmas. These are just a few of the major events listed on their winter calendar.
In addition to hosting wonderful events throughout the year, future endeavors for the ministry include expansion, but as Pastor Perkins assures: ministry is running smoothly and they’re not looking to build anytime soon. Offering two service times on Sunday morning—Early Worship service starting at 11 a.m. and Evening Worship service starting at 6 p.m. The goal of Mansfield Baptist is to share the love of Christ throughout the community. Mansfield Baptist also offers different activities throughout the week.
