We have studied the drag strip proposal for Social Circle further since our last editorial, but we remain opposed to the idea. Although we encourage the city’s elected officials to look for ways to increase revenue, we do not feel that putting a drag strip so close to an industrial development area — one that is promising so much for the economic future of numerous surrounding counties — is the right thing to do.
