The second treat was when council unanimously voted down a request from staff to charge a tax for the film and TV industry for the extra duties that local staff performs.

We don't disagree that we have a hard-working, dedicated staff and we know they always put up a first class effort, but this is not the time to put extra taxes on any business, especially one that pumps millions of dollars each year into our local economy.

There is going to come a time when through negotiations it will cost the film and TV industry more to do business here, but as council has so aptly stated, now is not that time.
