Dear Editor: I live in Social Circle, and I have read the article produced by the CCoSC. These are long time residence who fear change but want everyone to change and be like them. I feel differently about the proposed plan, and think it’s a wonderful opportunity for our businesses in Social Circle. We need revenue to fund our schools, roads, etc., that has to be paid for by our city. The people who would come in and eat, buy gas, and lodge would be of great benefit to us in my opinion. I think spending $5,000 a month to retain a lawyer is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If we can raise that kind of money for a what-if lawyer, they need to fund more school programs and after school recreation programs. Then maybe the Social Circle Police Department would write less harassing citations.
