Mr. William "Junior" Jeffries, 65, of Covington, died Oct. 26 at Newton Medical Center. The son of the late William Dee Sr. and Gaynelle Brannon Jeffries, he was born in Newton County in 1943. He was the owner of Jeffries Machine Company Inc. in Covington for over 35 years. Mr. Jeffries was a trustee at Faith Tabernacle, Byron, and a dedicated Christian. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and working on antique tractors. Mr. Jeffries was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by brother Danny G. Jeffries.

Surviving are wife of 41 years Noami Jeffries of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law Hope and Billy McCullough, Amanda and Wesley Ardiel, Christa Jeffries, all of Covington; son Mark Jeffries of Covington; grandchildren Joseph, Megan and Abigail McCullough, Mayla and Naomi Ardiel and baby boy soon to arrive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 29, in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. David Yancey and the Rev. Dutch Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
