William F. Henry, Sr. age 79 of Covington, Georgia. He left his home in Covington and entered into the gates of heaven to be with his Lord & Savior on February 23, 2013.  He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in the Candler and Glenwood area for 50 years.  Mr. Henry served his country from 1954 to 1956 in Okinawa, during the Korean War.  He is preceded in death by his parents Cornelia Jane and William Harry Henry.

 

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.  He was an excellent example of a godly man.  His enduring faith, humor, laughter, gentleness and incredible love for his family and will always be remembered.  He was employed 35 years with the Coca Cola Co. Foods Division.  He was a Deacon and active member of the Eastside Baptist Church. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty, he is survived by his daughter, Dianne Vater (Lee) and 2 sons William Henry Jr. (Billie Ann) and Tony Henry (Trudy).  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Grandchildren are Nicole Hill (Jesse), Jessica Vater, Delayney, Jacob, Barrett, Jared, Peyton, Jackson and Neely Henry.  Great Grandchildren are Georgia and Grant Hill. 

 

In addition, he is survived by 4 sisters, Nancy Mack, Frances Adams, Mary Wells, and Jean Albinger along with many nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service for William Henry will be held at 2 O'clock on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at New Covington Cemetery.  J.C.
