Wilbur Scottie Byrd of Covington, passed away January 31, 2011, at the age of 58. He attended Almon Baptist Church, and worked for Lithonia Lighting, as a truck driver, for 19 years. He loved spending time in Montana, enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Byrd was a loving and devoted father, pawpaw, son, brother, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Byrd.

 

Survivors include his mother, Doris Evelyn Byrd of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ryan Allen of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Windy Byrd of Covington; grandchildren, Austin Allen, Mason Byrd, Alexis Allen, Mallary Byrd, Bryant Scott Byrd, all of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jimmy Minnick of Covington; brothers and sisters-in-law,  Dennis and Robin Byrd of Covington, Mike and Diane Byrd of Covington, Mark and Sandra Byrd of Monroe; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Byrd will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd., with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, February 2, from 6-9 PM.
