Tommy Granger of Covington, passed away January 22, 2011, at the age of 95. Mr. Granger, a recipient of the Legion of Merit Award, was a World War II veteran, having served in the European Theatre. He was a member of North Covington United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, eating catfish, and working with his two brothers at Granger Brother's Garage.  Mr. Granger was a loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madge (Potts) Granger; and his parents, Steven Nathan and Olivia (Roseberry) Granger; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

 

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy G. and J. Alan Palmer of Covington; granddaughter, Staci, and her husband, Joseph Perez, Jr.; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Ella Perez, all of High Point, NC; sister-in-law, Sue Washington; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Granger will be held Monday, January 24, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd., with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, January 23, from 6-8 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Ct., Social Circle, GA 30025.
