Mr. Ron Slade, Sr. 80, of Covington passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018.  He was born Jan. 18, 1938 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and grew up in Columbus, Mississippi and moved to Jackson, Mississippi graduating from Provine High School in 1956.  Mr. Slade went on to the University of Mississippi graduating from Pharmacy School and then completed his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas.  He spent his career as a pharmacist and retired in 1997 after owning and operating Rogers Drug Store in Brunswick for 25 years.  Mr. Slade was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death by his father Paul Slade.  

Mr. Slade is survived by his wife of 58 years Anita Slade and his children Chris Slade and Wade Warren of Atlanta, Susie and Porter Hale of Alpharetta, Ronnie and Sabra Slade of St. Simons Island and his mother Pauline Slade Ross of Richland, Mississippi.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Brennan Hale, Connor Hale, Nolan Hale, and Walter Slade-Warren.
