Mr. James “Jim” Franklin Moss, Sr. of Covington passed away on August 7, 2010 at the age of 75. He was born in Newton County to the late Frank Wright and Georgia Rena (Callahan) Moss in 1934, and was a member of High Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed making peanut brittle and sharing it with family and friends. Mr. Moss loved sports, especially watching the Atlanta Braves, enjoyed gardening and loved raising his chickens. He loved God, his family, and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Moss is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, James Franklin, Jr. and Joslyn Moss, Scotty Lamar and Angela Moss; sister Lenora Darby all of Covington; brother, Joseph Patrick Moss of Conyers; sister-in-law, Janice Moss of Alpharetta; 6 grandchildren, Emily, Autumn, Skylar, Allison, Savannah, and Anniston; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Moss will be held on August 9, 2010, 2:00 P.M. at High Point Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Hiens, Dr. R. Hudson Moody, Pastor Joe Brock and Pastor J. B. Leachman officiating and interment will follow in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Floyd Street location of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Covington, on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M.
