Johnny Roberts of Covington passed away May 12, 2016, at the age of 61. Johnny cherished the time spent with his daughter, Jana, going to the mountains and on vacations. He enjoyed reading, studying history and going fishing. In addition, he loved to be outside exploring nature. Johnny had a heart for children and God’s creation, and he contributed to numerous charities. A hard worker, with an incredible work ethic, he would often work holidays so others could be off with their families. A loving father, brother and uncle, he will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clifford, Sr., and Rosa Roberts; and sisters, Carolyn Bunn and Bobbie Parham.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jana Roberts and Nicholas Skirrow of Bangkok, Thailand; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice and William Smith of Covington, Betty and Tom Brown of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, William (Billy), Jr., and Carolyn Roberts of Covington; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service for Johnny will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, 6 p.m., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Philip Budensiek officiating. Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Johnny’s memory to American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
