Mr. Edison Bedoya, 49, of Newborn, died Jan. 12. The son of Alfonso and Luzmila Bedoya, he was born in Cali, Columbia. He was a self-employed home painter who loved his family, his children and watching soccer games. Deportivo Cali was his favorite soccer team. He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are wife Janice Bedoya; stepchildren Audrey Baker and Edward and Kris Baker, all of Covington, Adrienne and Jonathan Brown of Monticello; brothers Alfonso Bedoya, Jairo Bedoya, Bernardo Bedoya, Diego Bedoya, William Bedoya, all of Greenville, S.C., Javier Bedoya of Washington, D.C.; sister Estella Bedoya of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren; many more family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Scott officiating. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the time of the funeral.
