Dorothy (Dot) Fincher Whaley of Covington passed away December 23, 2013, at the age of 82. Ms. Whaley was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, and owned and operated Dot’s Diner in Covington. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling and flower gardening. Ms. Whaley loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry McCullers; grandson, Shane McCullers; her parents, Aubrey and Cora Lee (Parker) Fincher; and her lifelong companion, Melvin Whaley.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Joan Dollar of Covington, Jean and Gary Wilkerson of Porterdale, Leisa and Ben Allen, Renita and Kimberly Whaley, all of Loganville, and Harvey McCullers of Covington; grandchildren, AJ (Josh) Allen, Katie Dollar, Heather Henry, Shara Greer, Lee McCullers, Rodney McCullers, and Crystal Digby; several great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Sally) Cordell of Covington; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Ms. Whaley were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., Covington, with Preacher Mike Franklin and Bishop Jim Swilley officiating, and entombment following in Memory Chapel Mausoleum at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
