ATLANTA (AP) — Fulton County prosecutors say a man accused of stabbing a friend's dog more than 20 times has been indicted on aggravated animal cruelty charges.
District Attorney's spokeswoman Yvette Jones said in a statement Thursday that 27-year-old Philemon Delouise of Alpharetta faces a three count indictment in the stabbing of a 2-year-old pit bull named Roxy, who survived the attack and is receiving ongoing medical care.
Jones says Delouise was taking care of Roxy for a friend on Feb. 28 when the dog was repeatedly stabbed and left outside. Jones says Roxy's owner found her about nine hours later and took her to receive emergency medical attention.
A trial date hasn't been set. Jail records say Delouise is being held on $15,000 bond. Delouise's public defender declined to comment.
